The University of Guelph’s Dr. Franco J. Vaccarino President’s Scholarship was established in honour of the University’s eighth president, Dr. Franco Vaccarino, to acknowledge his remarkable impact on the University. It is the most prestigious undergraduate entrance award for international students.

University of Guelph is a public institution established in 1964. Its campus is located in Ontario, Canada. The comprehensive research university offers 94 undergraduate degree programs. One scholarship is awarded each year to the top international student. The financial aid is valued at $42,500; and it includes a summer research assistantship position as well as mentorship.

Students with an outstanding academic record, who have made significant contributions to their schools and their communities, who have demonstrated innovative and unique approaches to implementing change and/or bringing about improvements to life, and who demonstrate the greatest potential to be future leaders are invited to apply.

Tuition Fees

Tuition and fees that international students pay for undergraduate programmes at the University of Guelph vary by program and cohort year. On the average, the cost of study is around $32,598 CAD. New international undergraduate and diploma students are required to pay a non-refundable tuition deposit of $1,000 CAD.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must submit application for admission and have a valid U of G student ID number
  • Applicant must be International (VISA) student
  • Applicant must be entering the first semester of any undergraduate degree program at the University of Guelph
  • Applicant must have not previously attended a post-secondary institution
  • Candidate must have at least an admission average equivalent to a 90.0% Canadian curriculum
  • You must have made significant leadership contributions to your school and community.

University of Guelph via the Franco J. Vaccarino President’s Scholarship program awards one scholarship each year to the top international student.
