Universities In Taiwan That Offer Scholarships

The cost of the education in the country is not easily affordable for those from low income households, hence why universities and the Taiwan government provide scholarships to make it easier for students to achieve their goals of obtaining high quality education. Taiwan Universities offer almost 2,000 scholarships to high achieving students and there is a straightforward process to apply for them.

The scholarship programs broadly provides funding for tuition fees and miscellaneous expenses in different universities but the extent of the coverage differs as not all cover administrative fees, insurance premiums, living cost and transport expenses. 1. Chang Gung University

Chang Gung University scholarships are available to domestic and international students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees across numerous fields of study.

Benefits of Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded to students every year and they cover tuition fees and other expenses. This scholarship is awarded to students with high academic achievement and performance.

For undergraduate students: Tuition fees are covered, but it excludes registration and other fees. The recipients are provided with a monthly stipend of NT$8,000.

For master’s students: Basic tuition fees are covered, excluding loan fees and registration fees. Recipients of this scholarship are provided with a monthly stipend of NT$10,000.

For doctorate programs: Tuition fee waiver (excluding loans and registration fees), a monthly stipend of NT$16,000, and a stipend of NT$4,000 is awarded to the successful candidate.

2. Altheia University

Altheia University offers various scholarship opportunities to international students with outstanding academic records towards the pursuit of bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees. This higher institution awards scholarships of up to NT$100,000 to all selected international students admitted to do undergraduate and graduate studies in all relevant fields.

3. National Taiwan Normal University

The scholarship at National Taiwan Normal University is for new students who wish to enroll in a degree program at the university and have not yet received a scholarship from a Taiwanese government institution.

For bachelor’s degree programs, tuition fees and other fees will be waived for each semester of the academic year.

For master’s programs, basic tuition fees and core credit fees will be waived for each semester in the first year. In the second year, undergraduate tuition fees and core credit fees will be waived for each semester based on the applicant’s major recommendation.

For doctorate programs, undergraduate tuition fees and core credit fees will be waived for each semester in the first year. Exemption from undergraduate tuition fees and core unit fees for each semester will be granted based on the recommendation of the applicant’s academic program in the second year. In the third year, exemption from basic tuition fees for each semester will be granted based on the recommendation of the applicant’s study program.

4. Asia University

Asia University is a top university in Taiwan that offers various scholarships to international students to pursue higher education degrees at bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels.

Benefits of Asia University Scholarships

For undergraduate students, the first category provides 100% exemption from tuition fees and other fees; the second category provides 50% exemption, and the third category provides 50% exemption from tuition fees only.

The first category of masters and doctoral scholarships from AU offers a full tuition fee waiver, 50% living expenses waiver, and a monthly stipend of NT$6,000. The other scholarship category offers a full tuition fee and other fees waiver, but no accommodation fee waiver. The third scholarship category offers a 50% tuition fee and other fees waiver.

5. Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology

Central Taiwan University Scholarships provide an excellent opportunity for all domestic and international students from around the world to pursue bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate programs in any field of study.

Scholarship Benefits:

The CTUST Scholarship offers a monthly stipend of NTD5,000. The university will award entrance or matriculation scholarships to outstanding students, with a total of 20 scholarships and a total grant amount of NT$1 million.
