Thai Universities That Offer Scholarships to International Students

Thailand is a popular study destination in Asia due to its tropical beaches and high number of scholarships available at its technical colleges. The rich culture, homely citizens and modern educational amenities attract almost 20,000 students from around the world every year.

As is the case in many countries, studying abroad can be challenging owing to financial constraints which is why universities in Thailand offer financial aid to applicants in numerous fields of study. In this blog post, we will explore five universities in Thailand that award scholarships to international students.

1. Chulabhorn Graduate School

Master’s Scholarship for International Students at Chulabhorn Graduate School, Thailand covers tuition fees and gives recipients 8,000 baht per month. All foreign applicants under the age of 30 who have experience in science laboratory research and hold a relevant bachelor’s degree in a science field with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

2. Chulalongkorn University

The Chulalongkorn University (CU) Scholarship Program is designed to support international students who wish to pursue a master’s or doctorate degree program at the higher institution.

Chulalongkorn University (CU) of Chula is a public and autonomous research university in Bangkok. It was originally established in 1899 during the reign of King Chulalongkorn. Its primary purpose was to serve as a school to train royal servants and civil assistants. The institution was later recognized as a state university in 1917, making it the oldest university in Thailand.

Japanese Government Financial Assistance for Students from Developing Countries

The Japanese Government in collaboration with the Thailand Asian Institute of Technology offers this scholarship, designed especially for graduate students.

Only candidates from developing countries who wish to study in Thailand are permitted to benefit from this scholarship, which covers the full cost of tuition and registration fees. It also includes health insurance, airfare, research grants, and more.

To be eligible for this scholarship:

Students must be nationals of a developing country. Also, you must have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree.

Applicants can apply for the one-year Master’s in Marine Plastic Reduction in the Environmental Engineering and Management (EEM) program (SERD) at the Faculty of Environment, Resources and Development. If you are not a native English speaker, you must demonstrate your proficiency with an IELTS academic score of 6, TOEFL CBT 213, or TOEFL IBT 80.

4. Thammasat University

International Faculty Master’s Scholarships

The Faculty of Global Studies at Thammasat University is a renowned university that offers cutting-edge master’s degrees in social innovation and sustainability. Currently, the institution offers two categories of scholarships: full scholarships and partial tuition scholarships.

Thesis/research scholarships: For those who want to pursue a career in research and consider a master’s degree as a stepping stone to a doctorate. Social Innovator Scholarship: Open to individuals with expertise in social innovation projects or who have worked in the field of social impact and wish to further their studies in related subjects at Master’s level.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for admission and those already accepted into the program in admission rounds 1-3.

This scholarship is open to individuals of any nationality and graduate students with a grade point average of 3.0 or above.

Applicants with at least 2-3 years of experience in community leadership activities.

5. Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology

Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology is a semi-autonomous technology institute established in 1992 within Thammasat University. The university is located in Pathum Thani, Thailand, but has established faculty and student exchange programs with many universities in Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America.

The scholarship is open to international students only. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be applying for a Master’s or PhD in an appropriate subject at Sirindhorn International University of Technology. A total of 40 students will be awarded this scholarship on the basis of merit. The scholarship will cover tuition fees, living expenses, airfare, and other expenses.
