Semmes Distinguished Scholars in Science Scholarship 2025

Semmes Distinguished Scholars in Science Scholarship hosted by Trinity University, USA is a fully funded scheme designed to support high-achieving bachelors degree-seeking students who are passionate about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
Trinity University is a private liberal arts university in San Antonio, Texas, United States of America. The higher institution established in 1869 is known for its rigorous academic programs. Trinity University is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places, making it the only campus in Texas to be designated a modernist historic district.
Semmes Scholarship will be provided to undergraduate students in the following fields of study – Biology, biochemistry, chemistry, neuroscience, mathematics, psychology, geosciences, and related fields. The program comprehensively focuses on academic excellence and leadership potential. Participants (Future STEM leaders) are getting coverage for full tuition and a $5,000 stipend.
Tuition fees
The tuition fees that international students pay for undergraduate studies at Trinity University for a full time academic year ranges from $13,472 to $26,945 per academic year (12-18 credits per Semester).
Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:
- Open to all nationalities
- Apply to or be studying any of the acceptable Courses/Subjects:
- Be first-year undergraduate students.
- Demonstrate strong academic achievement. To be proven through high school transcript and a recalculated core GPA on an unweighted 4.0 scale.
- Submission of standardized test scores – either ACT or SAT is optional. Trinity University considers the highest scores from each test and subtest submitted.
- Not be transfer, continuing, or graduate students.

Scholarship Benefits
Trinity University through the Semmes Distinguished Scholars in Science Scholarships will support recipients with full tuition coverage for up to 8 semesters. Semmes Scholars are selected through Trinity’s admissions process, without consideration of income.
This scholarship is renewable annually as long as beneficiaries maintain satisfactory academic progress (3.0 cumulative GPA) and remain enrolled full-time at the university, for each semester. A $5,000 stipend will also be given to them, which can be used for research support, professional travel, and materials.
Application Procedure
- Apply for Undergraduate admission to Trinity University by either the Early Decision I (ED) or Early Action (EA) deadline, November 1, 2024.
- Complete the Semmes Scholars application, which will be submitted with a CV that highlights academic achievements, relevant STEM experience, leadership roles and extracurricular activities
- Finalists will be invited to an on-campus interview and event on February 1, 2025
