East China University Scholarships 2025

East China University of Science and Technology is a public higher institution founded in 1952. It is located in Shanghai, which is known as a center of commerce, finance, culture and industrial production of China.

The East China University CSC Scholarships, sponsored by the Chinese and Shanghai Governments is designed from students from countries around the world who wish to pursue Master’s or PhD degrees at East China University of Science and Technology.

Master’s degree scholarship program will be valid for 2.5-5 years, and the doctoral degree will run for 3-4 years, covering all expenses relating to the selected students tuition, accommodation, and living stipends.

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees that students at East China University of Science and Technology differs from those at other East China higher institutions. For bachelor’s degree programs, students typically pay from 22,000 CNY to 70,000 CNY per year. While postgraduate programs cost considerably higher.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals
• Applicants must be in good health
• You must have a valid degree (Bachelor’s degree for Master applicants. Master’s degree for Ph.D. applicants)
• Applicants should meet the language requirements
• For Chinese-taught Program – Minimum HSK 5 for 210 or HSK 6 for 180.
• Those who’ve been granted bachelor or master’s degree from a Chinese-taught program at a Chinese university can apply for exemption from HSK requirements.
• For English-taught Program – Minimum TOEFL score of 80, or IELTS 6.0, or provide proof of English-taught program during the previous degree.
• Native English speakers do not need to submit the English Proficiency Certificate.

Scholarship Benefits

Recipients of the East China University Scholarship will be provided with aid which waives tuition fee, provides on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance, and monthly living allowance to all selected candidates. The stipend for Master’s students per month is 3,000 CNY. Doctorate degree candidates will receive 3,500 CNY monthly allowance.

Application Procedure

• Visit ECUST online application system
• Register, select “Online Application- Self-sponsored- Doctoral Student/ Master Student”
• Submit required documents according to the system prompts.
• Scholarship applicants need to upload the corresponding scholarship application forms.
• All applicants (self-sponsored or scholarship) are required to submit application as Self-sponsored. Each applicant applies only once, so please do not make duplicate applications.
• Pay the application fee of 600 CNY.
• The application is invalid if the application fee has not been paid. Once paid, the application fee will not be refunded.

Here are the necessary documents to submit for the East China University Scholarship;

• Copy of graduation and degree certificate of the highest education.
• Proof of Chinese or English language proficiency
• Copy of passport photo page.
• Transcripts of all courses from undergraduate study.
• Acceptance Letter
• Two Recommendation Letters in English or Chinese from Professor or Associate Professor.
• Other supporting documents such as published papers, awards & certificates
• Statement of Financial Support.
• Copy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form
• Copy of graduation and degree certificate of the highest education.
• A Study Plan with a minimum of 800 words and a detailed Research Proposal if prepared.
• Non-criminal Record Certificate. If applicant is unable to get one at home country, please sign Non-criminal Record Affirmation. International students studying in China can submit a certificate of no bad performance issued by university.
