Burnett Scholarship for Africans 2025

Burnett Scholarship at the University of Kent is a program designed to provide financial support to a select group of students from eligible African countries who are looking for postgraduate study opportunities in the United Kingdom.

The scholarship is fully funded and it covers the recipients full tuition fees, offers a £19,237 stipend for one year of expenses and travel costs to and from the UK. Notsew Orm Sands Foundation is sponsoring the inaugural Burnett Scholarship scheme at Kent for the DICE Master’s course for applicants from Africa’s KAZA region.

Six scholarships will be awarded in 2024, and for the next two years. Beneficiaries will receive fully funded studentship on the university’s taught Masters’ course in Conservation Science.

Tuition Fees

As a student pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate program at the University of Kent in the UK, bear in mind that the tuition fees are set based on the respective courses and level of study. However, the cost of studying still falls within a specific amount, which is between £9,995 to £17,995.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be nationals of, or have official refugee status in any of these countries;
  • Angola
  • Botswana
  • Namibia
  • Zambia
  • Zimbabwe.
• Have at least two years of work experience in the conservation sector.
• Be in possession of a good undergraduate degree, with a minimum of a UK 2:1 or equivalent.
• Meet the UK Visas and Immigration specifications
• Prove English language proficiency

Scholarship Benefits

When selected for the University of Kent Burnett Scholarship, recipients will be awarded aid that covers their complete tuition fees. They will be given stipend of £19,237 per month for living expenses and travel costs to and from the United Kingdom.
